Our You-Cut Lavender Experience is a seasonal agritourism event where visitors can wander through our blooming lavender fields and hand-harvest their own fresh bouquets. You-Cut will be available on Saturdays in July from 9 am to noon. Other times during July and August can be arranged by appointment from 8 am to 6 pm on Monday-Saturday. A flat fee is charged per bundle.
We designate the cultivars to cut, and provide blunt tip scissors (for your safety), a white bucket, and rubber bands for collecting flower stems. We also provide a quick tutorial on the way we harvest/prune lavender without damaging the woody base of the plant. You have the option of putting your fresh bouquet in a plastic bag with water, or glass container with water to keep the flowers fresh. Your fresh bouquet may last 7 days if you change the water every day and include a drop of dish detergent. Alternatively when returning home, you can hang the fresh bouquet upside down in cool dark place to dry for 1 to 2 weeks, and then harvest the buds for crafts or display the dried bouquet for it’s aroma and beauty.
